Fees

After many decades building promotional and marketing campaigns, I have learned that one size does not fit all. And that is absolutely the case with photography clients. I do not believe in offering pre-priced generic packages. I need to meet a prospective client, either in person, or via Skype, and discuss their project in detail. Whether the client is a fashion model or a business owner, I spend at least an hour in their company to learn as much about them as possible. This is essential for both of us to feel comfortable working together. Many factors come into play, including how long the photoshoot will take; the location; whether hair and makeup, and on-location or studio time is needed etc.

My services are “bespoke”. Each client’s needs are tailored exclusively to their vision and financial resources. I am very sensitive to potential clients cash flow. I work within the client’s budgetary parameters and create an affordable package to accommodate their finances.

I enjoy long term relationships and many of my clients have become close friends. And with friendship comes trust and rewarding results.

My Process

On fashion assignments I create a Mood Board as a gps to the destination. I show the model ideas I have developed for the shoot and together we can reproduce them. Most of the time, the ideas are fresh in my head from researching the images the day prior to the shoot, so I tend to go “off book” which is an acting term for no longer needing the script, as it is saved to memory.

My Gear

I use the Fujifilm digital system and edit as I make the image. Meaning that I only use the viewfinder, never the LCD screen, and I place (crop) the image, and adjust the lighting and colours while capturing the photograph. My images need very little post production, which I avoid as much as possible.  I use Fujifilm lenses on all shoots.

I specialize in working with vintage lenses from between 1960-1990. These lenses are controlled manually (aperture and focus) and render images which have a film quality, amazing bokeh (background blur) and the feel of the era in which they were made. I always make some images with these lenses during my photoshoots, especially for black and white shots which are included just because they please me. And they always please the client.

Time Line & Delivery

If the project is a one day photoshoot I normally work through the night and send the final images in high resolution via WeTransfer by the following morning. This will vary depending on the amount of work involved. However, the most I will take to deliver the images will be 3 days.
